Bhubaneswar, 15.11.23 ( Pratyusha Bureau):JSW Foundation and Bhubaneswar Music Circle have joined hands to bring some outstanding programmes in Ragotsav, scheduled from the 18th to 20th November 2023 at Rabindra Mandap. The programme begins at 6.30 pm sharp every day. It will comprise of 2 presentations on each of the evening by artistes coming from 6 different cities of India. It is open to the public to walk in and enjoy each day’s offering. Bhubaneswar Music Circle is a citizen’s organisation established in 1963 to promote Indian classical music in Bhubaneswar and nearby areas. Currently it has around 500 Life members. Bhubaneswar Music Circle holds programmes every month, two of which are three-day festivals. “Ragotsav”, the Annual Music Festival, is normally held in November and presents Indian Classical music programmes of Hindustani, Carnatic and Odissi genres. “Samarpan” is a Sufiana and Devotional Music festival held in February. Established in 1989, JSW Foundation, is the social development arm of JSW group. The Foundation takes conscious steps to support and empower communities, primarily those located around its plants. It has a footprint across 11 states and 15 districts reaching out to 1 million individuals in the villages located around its manufacturing locations. Amongst its many initiatives, are preservation and conservation of national heritage, that includes Indian classical music.
