Bhubaneswar: 27 Dec 2025( Pratyusha bureau )GEDCOL SAIL Power Corporation Limited (GSPCL), a Joint Venture Company of GridCorporation of Odisha Limited (GEDCOL) and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), isestablishing a 10 MW Mandira Small Hydro Electric Project at Mandira Dam, Odisha. In thisregard, the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between GSPCL and SAIL is signed on24.12.2025 in the Conference Hall of the Energy Department, Government of Odisha.The PPA signing ceremony was held in the august presence of Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS,Principal Secretary to Government, Energy Department, Government of Odisha, CMD,OHPC and Chairman, GEDCOL. Among other dignitaries, Sh. B. C. Jena, IndependentDirector, Sh. R.C. Tripathy, Independent Director, Smt Nibedita Mishra, IAS, AdditionalSecretary, Smt. Shyamali Mohapatra, OAS(SS), Shri Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan,OAS(SAG), Dr. Debi Dutta Tripathy, OFS of Energy Department, Sh. P. K. Mohanty,Director (Fin.), OHPC and Sh. A. K. Mohanty, Director (Operation), OHPC & GEDCOL, SriGagan Bihari Moharana CFO, GSPCL, Sri Malaya Kanta Swain, Technical Head,GSPCLwith representatives of Rourkela Steel Plant, Shri Deepak Roy CGM (Power) andShri R. K. Muduli (CGM NPM, SPP & Digitalization), Director in the Board of GSPCL werepresent on this occasion.As per the agreement, the entire power generated from the Mandira Small Hydro ElectricProject will be utilized by Rourkela Steel Plant and the power evacuation will be carried outthrough Kuaramunda Grid Substation.On this momentous occasion, Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS congratulated the GSPCL teamfor this significant milestone and advised them to complete the project within the stipulatedschedule, emphasizing its importance in strengthening clean and renewable energy generationin the State.
