3 DAYS MANGO EXHIBITION INAUGURATED AT NABARD RO, ODISHA.

Bhubaneswar 10/6 ( pratyushanews):NABARD, Odisha RO is organizing “3rd State level Mango Festival cum Exhibition 2024”, during 10-12 June 2024 at Regional Office, IRC village, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar. The event was graced by Dr.Sarada Prasan Mohanty, RD, RBI as chief guest and accompanied by Dr.Sudhansu K K Mishra, CGM, NABARD, Shri Rishi Singh, Chairman, Odisha Gramya Bank and regional heads of commercial banks, representatives of OUAT, CHES, and OMFED. The 3-day festival was inaugurated by Dr. Sarada Prasan Mohanty, RD, RBI. Dr. Sudhansu K K Mishra, CGM, NABARD in his inaugural address emphasized on the different varieties of Mangoes which will be displayed and sold during the festival which include Amrapalli, Dasheri, Lengda, Mallika, Akhuraso, Bainganpalli.

NABARD has been providing grant assistance for development of sustainable income generating activities among tribal farmers of Odisha, through its Tribal Development Programme with ‘WADI’ i.e. a small orchard, as its core component. NABARD is currently implementing 82 such WADI projects in 25 tribal dominated districts of the State. Popular varieties of garden-fresh mangoes such as Amrapali, Baiganpalli, Totapuri, Lengda, Dusheri, Sundari, Subarnarekha, Himsagar, Mallika, and other fruits such as Pineapple, Jack fruit brought by farmers assisted under the said Programme of NABARD will be on display for sale. The event would have active collaboration from State Government, Director of Horticulture, OUAT and would attempt to promote buyer seller contacts. The wholesalers have been invited to interact with farmers group and explore the possibility of startups in horticulture- based farming systems in rural Odisha.
