Bhubaneswar, 15/12/23 ( Pratyusha Bureau ):To moderate the market prices of Wheat and Rice, it has been decided by Govt. of India to offload Wheat and Rice in the open market through e-auctions in a phased manner under OMSS (D) through Food Corporation of India. Existing rate is Rs. 2150/- per quintal for wheat (FAQ), Rs. 2125/- per quintal for wheat (URS), Rs. 2900/- per quintal for Rice with applicable taxes. Wheat Processors/Atta Chakki/Flour Millers of Wheat Products can participate through e-auction. Bidders with LT Electricity connection can bid up to 10 MT to 50 MT whereas HT Electricity connection can bid up to 10 MT to 250 MT. Traders having GST certificate from any State are also allowed for participation for Rice e-auction up to 01 MT to 2000 MT per bidder. As per recent tender floated by FCI, 12000 MT from 14 Centres and Wheat and 12241 MT Rice from 08 Centres have been offered for e- auction in Odisha Region. The sale of Wheat under the scheme will be carried out on FRIDAY every week by FCI.
