Bhubaneswar 21 July 23( pratyushanews):Workshop on 5G Use Cases organised by DOT Odisha LSA Department of Telecommunication (DoT), Odisha LSA successfully concluded the dynamic Workshop on 5G Use Cases in Bhubaneswar on 21st July 2023. Spareheaded by the Technology Vertical of Odisha LSA, this pioneering event aimed to promote the integration of 5G technology into real-life products and services by fostering collaboration with Start-ups and Companies. Shri Dhanjaya Senapati. Addl. Commissioner. Transport Govt of Odisha was the chief guest and Shri Bijoyananda Mishra, Advisor(T). E&IT Department, Govt. of Odisha was the Guest of Honour to grace the occasion. In the inaugural address, Shri U V Ramana, Addl. Director General Telecom DoT Odisha, highlighted the significance of 5G technology in diverse sectors to deliver tangible products and services. The workshop witnessed participation of nearly 10 esteemed technology start-ups and firms, showcasing their innovative 5G-based products in the presence of senior officials from the Government of India, Government of Odisha, and dignitaries/representatives from academia, as well as government organizations like ICAR-NRRI, E&IT. Police, Health, Education, Smart Cities, H&UD, Energy, Agriculture, OPEPA,OPTCL etc. The event featured presentations and demonstrations from various technology startups, including IG Drones (drones with spraying & analytics capabilities), BKC Aggregator (real-time crop advisory). Invas Technologies (monitor & automate irrigation) in Agriculture & Dairy sector. In the Health sector, ASADEL Technologies showcased their 4G/5G mobile- based screening of oral lesions for cancer and clinical assessment of human locomotion & gait in the elderly population. Deep Facts demonstrated a smart device for ECG & other vitals monitoring, while Easiofy presented their brain tumor segmentation technology. Additionally, Easiofy showcased digital textbooks with lab functionality in the Education sector. In the domain of Smart Cities. Sparsh and Nayan displayed their 5G/4G cameras and smart surveillance solutions, respectively Furthermore, it was announced that the Government of India plans to establish approximately 100 Nos of 5G Test Labs across the country to test and evaluate developed products and application/ services utilizing 5G technology. The Department of Telecommunications revealed its initiative, “5G & Beyond Hackathon 2023,” aimed at encouraging individuals, students, start-ups, companies, and academic institutions to transform their cutting-edge ideas into practical 5G based products and solutions. The portal is already open for online application and the last date of submission of online application is 31st July 2023.
