Withthe aim of offering a wide range of silk sarees suitable for wedding ceremonies and variousother occasions at one place, Odisha Art and Craft has organized the Silk India Exhibition atHotel Prachi, Janpath, Bhubaneswar. This ten-day exhibition offers customers a variety ofspecial sarees and dress materials ideal for festivals and weddings. Handloom sarees from13 states are the main attraction of the exhibition. After the inauguration, modelsshowcased sarees designed by more than 150 weavers and designers from across Indiathrough a graceful ramp walk. Speaking on the occasion, Manas Acharya, Managing Directorof Odisha Art and Craft, said that the organization has been working continuously for severalyears to keep the traditional art of silk weaving alive. He added that a wide variety of silkcollections created by weavers and designers from different parts of the country are beingdisplayed at the exhibition. Manas Acharya further informed that the exhibition is beingheld from September 11 to 22, 2026, and will remain open daily from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm.The Silk India Exhibition presents an enchanting collection of popular silk sarees and dressmaterials from various regions of the country. Each saree and dress material on display isunique and captivating in its own way. He said that more than 80 stalls have been set up atthe exhibition, offering silk sarees, suits, dress materials, stoles, kurtis, dupattas, kurtas,footwear, and home d\u00e9cor items. Visitors will get to see an excellent collection of famoussilk sarees from different states, including Sambalpuri Ikat silk from Odisha, organic Tussarsilk from Bihar, Muga and Eri silk from Assam, crepe, georgette and Arani silk fromKarnataka, Kanchipuram silk from Tamil Nadu, Mulberry, Jamawar and Jamdani silk fromUttar Pradesh, Kosa silk from Chhattisgarh, Chinar and Tedi silk from Jammu & Kashmir,Kota silk from Rajasthan, Phulkari dresses from Punjab, along with silk and dress materialsfrom many other states.
